Comment from State Senator Leroy Stumpf

Thanks to the lobbying efforts of Minnesota QDMI a youth season was passed. I have talked to a number of people that have had positive things to say about the early antlerless youth season. This season will give kids the opportunity to get out with an adult and learn more about why we need to decrease the doe herd. Adults will have more time to mentor the youth at this time of the year rather than wait for rifle season when everyone is in a hurry to do their own hunting. This is an extra season so the kids can still go hunting with their hunting party in the regular rifle season.
